Labyrinths . . .

The Mountain Day Fall Festival experience from last month has slowly digested and is now percolating.  It was a gorgeous day, cloudy to begin but with a bit of help from the wind, the sun emerged and warmed us all.  Our fourteen year old son was my compadre from before sunrise till sundown.  We drove down the mountain while it was still dark, the car packed the night before with booth setup gear and a tub with my artwork. Odes to Nature

About a month ago I went to the opening of my first solo art show on Friday the 5th at The Blue Phoenix Cafe. Downtown galleries open their doors till about 8:30 every first Friday of the month, celebrating the opening evening of new exhibits and the streets are busy with people getting together, chittering and chattering, around paintings, wine, cheese, fruit, and in the case of The Blue Phoenix, superb vegetarian fare like sushi, brown rice burgers (delicious), and hummus. Winter Art & Craft Bazaar

A little taste of our first showing, came completely by surprise through the local newspaper . . . which Layla reads with a comb most thorough.  She saw the call for artists for the bazaar hosted by the Buena Vista Arts Council, first I’d heard of it!  Followed through by calling the number and next thing we were toting boxes with all our makings to set up a table, which was super fun to do up a little nook in a big space amongst other artists.  When we were done it looked like so:
